What are the best-selling products on bol in 2026?
Lars HurkmansCo-founder1 October 2026Reading time 9 minutesAccording to MarktMentor's sales estimates, electronics, household and toys sell best on bol. In the last 30 days up to and including 29 September 2026, almost a quarter of revenue went to electronics. The strongest growers are pets, sports, toys and food and drink, and products under 20 euros sell most often.
Most lists of best-selling products on bol are written for shoppers: a handful of popular items, without numbers. We look at it as a seller. The numbers in this article come from the sales estimates MarktMentor makes every day for each product we track on bol, added up per category. Unless stated otherwise, they cover the last 30 days, from 31 August up to and including 29 September 2026, for the Netherlands and Belgium combined. They are estimates and therefore an order of magnitude, not official bol figures. We refresh this article every month.
How is revenue on bol distributed?
According to our estimates, around three quarters of revenue on bol comes from the Netherlands and a quarter from Belgium. That applies to the last 30 days and is almost the same over the whole year.
Over the past 12 months, measured revenue grew by around 21% compared with the 12 months before. Part of that comes from tracking more products, so read it as a direction, not as exact market growth. Also keep in mind that September is not a peak month: in November 2025, revenue was more than half higher than in September 2025. Read more about the size of the market in the bol market in numbers.
Which categories sell best on bol?
Electronics is by far the best-selling category on bol, with almost a quarter of total revenue in the last 30 days. Household, toys and computers follow, each with around 8 to 10%. Together, the top five categories take around half of revenue.
| # | Main category | Share of total revenue | Median price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Electronics | around 23% | around 25 euros |
| 2 | Household | around 10% | around 25 euros |
| 3 | Toys | around 8% | around 23 euros |
| 4 | Computers | around 8% | around 48 euros |
| 5 | Personal care | around 7% | around 20 euros |
| 6 | Home and living | around 6% | around 40 euros |
| 7 | DIY | around 6% | around 33 euros |
| 8 | Pets | around 4% | around 29 euros |
| 9 | Sports | around 4% | around 40 euros |
| 10 | Baby products | around 4% | around 25 euros |
The median price is the middle offer price of the products in the category. A product can sit in more than one category, so the shares do not add up to exactly 100%. In our earlier article, electronics came out at more than 17%: that was a different period and a share of the sum of all categories instead of total revenue. The picture is the same: electronics is by far the largest.
In units sold it is closer. In the last 30 days, around 13% of all units sold came from electronics and 12% from toys. Over a whole year, toys actually top the list with around 14% of units, because toys have a much bigger peak in the fourth quarter. Personal care and household follow.
Which subcategories sell the most on bol?
One level deeper, phones and accessories and kitchen appliances are the largest subcategories, each with around 6% of total revenue in 30 days. Within phones, most comes from smartphones; within kitchen appliances, coffee machines are among the biggest contributors.
| # | Subcategory | Main category | Share of total revenue | Share of units sold |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Phones and accessories | Electronics | around 6.5% | around 4.1% |
| 2 | Kitchen appliances | Electronics | around 5.8% | around 3.1% |
| 3 | Audio and hi-fi | Electronics | around 3.3% | around 1.9% |
| 4 | Building and construction | Toys | around 3.1% | around 2.5% |
| 5 | Vacuuming | Household | around 2.9% | around 1.2% |
| 6 | Laptops | Computers | around 2.4% | around 0.1% |
| 7 | Furniture | Home and living | around 2.2% | around 1.2% |
| 8 | Dog shop | Pets | around 2.0% | around 2.2% |
| 9 | Cleaning | Household | around 2.0% | around 2.4% |
| 10 | Hair care | Personal care | around 2.0% | around 2.7% |
Sort by units sold instead of revenue and cheaper subcategories move up. After phones and kitchen appliances, these are games, hair care, crafts and hobbies, building sets, the cat shop, cleaning and the dog shop, each with around 2 to 3% of all units sold. Laptops rank high in revenue but sell few units: around 0.1% of units, at a median price of around 900 euros.
Which products are bestsellers on bol right now?
The products that sold most often in the last 30 days are almost all well-known branded products or consumables that people buy again and again. Think of Apple EarPods and AirPods, a Kobo e-reader, replacement blades for the Philips OneBlade, water filters for JURA coffee machines, cat litter, Pampers baby wipes and toilet paper in a value pack.
On top of that, you see two temporary effects. The new school year puts calculators and school supplies in the top, and new releases such as EA Sports FC 27 and Zelda for the Nintendo Switch 2 lift gaming: that category turned over almost 40% more in these 30 days than in August. Summer categories are dropping off: garden, camping and travel luggage were 20 to 25% lower than the month before.
For a seller, the individual bestsellers are mainly a lesson in patterns, not a list to copy. You don't compete with Apple or Pampers, and with consumables the value lies in repeat purchases. Why competing with strong brands is hard, you can read in the bol market in numbers.
Which categories are growing fastest on bol?
Over the past 12 months, food and drink, pets, sports and toys grew fastest, with measured revenue growth of 35 to 45%. The market as a whole grew by around 21% in our measurement. That includes growth in coverage, because we track more products every year, so the comparison with the average says more than the percentage itself.
| Main category | Share of annual revenue | Measured revenue growth | Compared with the market |
|---|---|---|---|
| Food and drink | around 1.3% | around +45% | much faster |
| Pets | around 3.7% | around +42% | much faster |
| Sports | around 4.4% | around +40% | much faster |
| Toys | around 9.8% | around +35% | faster |
| Electronics | around 23% | around +24% | slightly faster |
| Health products | around 3.6% | around +7% | slower |
| Cooking and dining | around 3.4% | around +1% | much slower |
| Travel luggage and accessories | around 1.0% | around -5% | shrinking |
Within those categories, a few subcategories stand out, each with at least half a percent of annual revenue. Running more than doubled in revenue. Soft drinks, juice, coffee and tea grew almost 60%, games more than 50%, building and construction around 45%, and e-readers, the dog shop and the cat shop each more than 40%. With jumps this large, part of it can also come from bol reclassifying products, so always look at the products themselves when you see an outlier.
At what price do products sell best on bol?
Products under 20 euros sell most often: they make up about a third of the supply, but account for half of all units sold. More expensive products sell less often, but lift revenue: products of 100 euros and more are only 5% of units and yet more than a third of revenue.
| Price per product | Share of supply | Share of units sold | Share of revenue | Share of products that sold |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| under 10 euros | around 7% | around 14% | around 3% | around 13% |
| 10 to 20 euros | around 25% | around 36% | around 15% | around 10% |
| 20 to 50 euros | around 40% | around 35% | around 29% | around 7% |
| 50 to 100 euros | around 16% | around 10% | around 18% | around 5% |
| 100 euros and more | around 12% | around 5% | around 36% | around 4.5% |
The last column shows which share of the products in that price segment sold at least once in 30 days. The cheaper, the bigger the chance of a sale. This matches what we found earlier using the average price per category: cheaper products take more of the market than their supply suggests. It says nothing yet about your profit, because at a low price bol's fixed costs and shipping weigh more heavily. Always check this with the Profit Calculator.
How many products on bol actually sell?
Around one in thirteen products we tracked in the last 30 days sold at least once. Revenue is highly concentrated: the best-selling 0.2% of products takes around 45% of revenue, and the best-selling 20% around 82%.
Around 1.3% of products sold at least 30 units in the month, so one a day or more on average, and less than 0.1% at least 300 units. A typical selling product came to around 8 units and roughly 200 euros in revenue that month. How likely a sale is varies strongly by category:
| Main category | Share of products that sold | Average revenue per selling product |
|---|---|---|
| Household | around 31% | around 1,500 euros |
| Personal care | around 29% | around 1,000 euros |
| Cooking and dining | around 18% | around 500 euros |
| Electronics | around 12% | around 2,300 euros |
| Toys | around 10% | around 1,000 euros |
| Home and living | around 7% | around 700 euros |
| Women's fashion | around 5% | around 400 euros |
In household and personal care, almost one in three products sells something in a month. In fashion, with hundreds of thousands of variants in sizes and colours, it is only one in twenty. An average says nothing about an individual niche, but it does show where an ordinary product gets its first sale faster.
What do these numbers mean for you as a seller?
The best-selling category is not automatically the best place to start. Electronics is the largest, but that is also where the strong brands and the highest prices are. The opportunities for a new or growing seller more often lie in the combination of enough demand, growth above the market average and a category where an ordinary product sells easily.
- Look at growth relative to the market. Pets, sports, toys and food and drink are growing much faster than average. A growing category gives new products more room than a stable one.
- Watch for repeat purchases. Many bestsellers are consumables: filters, blades, litter, wipes. Products like these deliver recurring sales.
- Weigh price against the chance of a sale. Under 20 euros you sell more often, above 100 euros you make more revenue per sale. Work out your margin per segment before you choose.
- Take the season into account. September is an ordinary month. Toys and electronics peak in November and December, while summer categories are dropping off now.
- Go from category to niche. A main category is too broad to choose in. Use these numbers as a starting point and work them out with the product research framework and historical data.
