Both advertise, with different data behind them
MarktMentor and Adyard both automate your advertising on bol. You set bid rules on your existing campaigns, you adjust your bids per hour of the day, you switch off a keyword as soon as your product ranks high for it organically, and you edit hundreds of targets at once. Every change is recorded in a history with its reason. On that basis, the tools are similar.
The difference lies in what the automation knows. An advertising tool looks at your own account: your clicks, your costs and your sales. That is half the picture. The other half lies outside your account: what the market bids for a keyword, when customers in your category buy, how well a product in your category should convert, and who is next to you on a keyword.
MarktMentor is the complete platform for bol, and the advertising tools use the same data as the rest of the platform. That way your automation steers not only on what happens in your account, but also on the market around it.
MarktMentor also carries out the work itself. Strategies, Rulesets and Dayparting adjust your bids every day or switch targets on and off, and from Campaign insights you create, edit and pause campaigns without going to bol.
You decide how much you automate
Not every advertiser wants to hand over the same things. That is why you choose per product and per campaign how far you go.
- In bulk, yourself. The Bulk editor shows all your targets and search terms in one table, grouped the way you want. You adjust bids, maximum bids and statuses in one go. Work lists such as "Leaking targets", "Organic overlap" and "Untapped potential" show you where to look.
- With rules. With Rulesets you set if-then rules on your existing campaigns, from templates per goal or built yourself. With Dayparting you bid more in the hours when customers buy and less in the hours when they only browse.
- With a strategy per product. With Strategies you choose a goal, and MarktMentor sets up the campaigns and steers the bids per phase: Data collection, Launch, Organic and Optimisation. The system checks every day whether the goal of a phase has been reached and then moves on.
- With an AI assistant. You connect MarktMentor to your own AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, which answers your questions and prepares changes as a proposal. Here is how that works.
You stay in control throughout. Rules from a template arrive switched off, so you can review them first. Every bid change is recorded in the bid history with its reason. And the AI assistant changes nothing without your confirmation. Rulesets, Dayparting and the Bulk editor work on the campaigns you already have, so you do not need to rebuild anything.

What the market adds to your advertising
Every good advertising tool does a few checks: what the market bids for a keyword, how high your product ranks organically, and whether there is still stock. MarktMentor does those too, every day and automatically. But that still means you are looking at your own account. Why something happens in your account only becomes clear when you put it next to what the rest of the market did in the same period.
Are your ads not being shown? Look at the players next to you
If a campaign gets few impressions, that can be down to your bid, but just as well to your product. The question then is what relevant competitors did in the same period. Were their ads shown? How much did they sell? How strong is their listing, with how many reviews and what rating? And what did they do with their price?
In the Product Radar you put those competitors side by side. For each product you see the revenue, units sold, impressions and price over time, the reviews, and who wins the buy box at what price and delivery time. In the visibility analysis you see for each competitor on how many keywords and categories they are found, how many impressions they get there, and on how many days in the period they advertised. That shows you whether their position is earned or bought, and which strategy is behind it: a competitor that ranks high and hardly advertises sells enough to rank there organically.
Which keywords are your competitors on?
For each competitor you see the keywords and categories on which they can be found, with the traffic each placement brings in. Often two or three keywords bring in most of their traffic. In the Keyword Guide you see which keywords your competitors are found on and you are not, and in My Rankings who is next to you on your own keywords and whether that spot is organic or bought. Those are the keywords where you bid against someone who is already strong there, and the keywords where there is still room.
Your performance mirrored against your category
In My Performance you see the conversion rate of your product next to the benchmark for your category. If your product stays below it, you gain more from your listing than from higher bids, because extra traffic to a page that converts poorly mainly increases your costs. Your market share shows whether your growth comes from the market or from you. And with Panorama you follow how revenue, price and visibility develop for each brand in your category.
When do customers in your category buy?
You see the sales patterns in your category per hour and per day of the week. That is a benchmark you do not have in your own account: your own orders show when your product sells, the category shows when customers in this market buy. Dayparting "Based on orders" combines the two in a schedule, so that a product with few orders of its own also bids at real buying moments. And because the performance data refreshes about every two hours, your bid can follow when people buy throughout the day.
And the checks that run every day
On top of that, Rulesets and Strategies run the standard checks every day. With templates such as "Move bid with the market price", your bid stays close to the average winning bid. With "Switch off at top-3 position", you pause a keyword as soon as your product ranks in the top 3 for it organically, and if the product drops back, MarktMentor switches the keyword back on automatically. And if stock runs out, you scale back the advertising.

Advertising as part of your whole bol business
Advertising is a means. You buy visibility to make a product sell and grow organically. Whether that works depends largely on what happens outside your campaigns: which market your product is in, how your listing converts, and what you keep after all costs.
That is why MarktMentor has it all in the same platform:
- Product research. In the Niche Explorer and the Product Radar you assess a market before you buy stock, including what visibility on a keyword costs.
- The whole market. With Panorama you follow the complete bol market by category, brand and segment, and see whether a decline is down to you or to the category.
- Your listing. The Listing Builder writes your title and description based on keywords and competitors' reviews, so that the traffic you buy also converts.
- Your market share and your profit. You see your market share per category, and your advertising costs count towards your profit and loss statement.
- Your store. Invoices go to bol automatically and review emails go out at the moment you choose.
The AI assistant can combine all of this: your campaign and bid data with your revenue, profit, stock, reviews and organic positions, in a single question.

What does it cost?
At MarktMentor the price of advertising grows with the revenue you generate from it: your advertising revenue per month, across all your stores combined. You choose the level that fits your revenue, and if you generate more in a month, that part costs a small amount per 1,000 euros.
Up to about €20,000 in advertising revenue per month, you pay less at MarktMentor for Strategies, Rulesets and Dayparting than for Adyard's Pro plan. So you do not have to choose between price and depth: for the same amount or less, you get the whole bol platform as well. The current breakdown is on our advertising pricing page.
